Having purchased a woolen carpet, you need to learn the ways of cleaning it. The first thing is doing away with the spotter contained in your pantry. The PH that your carpet has will determine if you will ever use soap or chemical on it. A PH of 4.5 – 8.5 is recommended for such cleaning. A PH that ranges at 7 (neutral will not cause the dyes to fade). It is also not recommended that you use bleach on your woolen carpet. The use of bleach dissolves the wool.
It is also very important to observe on the issue of washing the carpet with over the counter products. This drives us to the care that we should have on the cuticle due to the issues of the PH since breaking it will be a great mess. Scrubbing is another thing that will fuzz out the fiber and should be handled with care.
