Paint VS Wallpaper

Making a choice between wallpaper and paint has always been a tough call for decorators – both novices and professionals – at some or the other point in time. As both have their own set of advantages and disadvantages, it is difficult to rate one higher than the other.
Weighing on the basis of some basic parameters such as cost, effort, maintenance and longevity, paint scores over wallpaper in the first three factors as the latter is quite expensive, requires a great deal of effort for application and is difficult to maintain. However, it has greater longevity than paint and if properly maintained can be used for a minimum of ten to fifteen years.
On the flip side, paint needs to be changed every three to four years on an average to maintain a fresh look. Moreover, it is better to use wallpaper in a home with small kids as it can be a tough job to clean the painted walls every time they decide to show their creative side.
