How to use curtains as a room divider

August 10, 2010  //  Posted by: cooldude  //  Category: Home Care

Room dividers are essential accessories especially if you have to do up a large space. Using curtains of various shades and textures as room dividers is a practical as well as cost effective option.

While picking up curtain fabrics for a room divider make sure that you sort out your needs well. For example if you don’t want to obstruct natural lighting from entering your divided space it is generally recommended not to go for a heavy fabric. Instead you can pick among the lighter variants such as nets, satin or chiffon. Again, if you need the room divider for the sake of privacy, go for heavier materials. While picking up shades, make sure it matches well with the other accessories and your wall paint.

Picking up something which doesn’t compliment your décor will stick out badly and spoil the appeal of your room. If you want the room divider for your kid’s room, pick something bright and cheery. Subtle shades works better for bedrooms though.
